Change Is Good
Some say people never change for the better. They can change
their appearance, their surroundings, their friends, and
perhaps make mild adjustments to their attitudes, but their
character remains the same. A man who is born evil, dies
evil.
Nonsense. I see men change. See them change right before
my eyes, slowly and with great patience. Their transitions
are a marvel of nature--like the sea carving its landscape,
washing away its impurities, till only a fine white sand
remains. Their fierce determination for change of
character is often rooted in some great sorrow. And the
sorrow rooted in recognition of their own weakness. I
believe their ability to recognize evil as weakness is
wisdom. And if wisdom is grace and grace is goodness,
then man is good.
